Frequently asked questions

Prague — the questions we get most often.

Where can I find a sworn translator in Prague?

Our office is at Opletalova 1535/4, Praha 1 — Nové Město (mezzanine floor, office 019), 2 minutes from Hlavní nádraží metro station. The translator is registered as a court-appointed translator with the Czech Ministry of Justice. You can also send documents online if you cannot visit in person.

I was looking for a certified translation — is this the same?

Yes. In the Czech Republic, what English speakers usually call a “certified translation” or “notarised translation” is legally called a sworn translation (soudní překlad) — a translation with the round stamp of a court-appointed translator registered with the Czech Ministry of Justice. It is the same document and the only one Czech authorities accept.

Do you offer same-day or urgent translations?

Yes. Standard personal documents (birth and marriage certificates, diplomas, criminal record checks) can be done in express mode within 24 hours, sometimes same-day. We confirm the deadline together with the price when reviewing your request.

Can I order remotely without visiting the office?

Yes. Send a scan or photo of your document by e-mail or Telegram, we will quote the job and confirm the deadline. The finished translation with stamp is delivered by post within the Czech Republic or as an electronic certified translation. Many of our business clients work with us fully remotely.

Will your translation be accepted by Czech authorities?

Yes. Every translation carries the round stamp of a court-appointed sworn translator registered with the Czech Ministry of Justice. It is accepted by the Ministry of the Interior (OAMP), registry offices, the labour office, courts, notaries, Czech employers and foreign authorities.

Can you help with documents for residence permit applications?

Yes. We translate criminal record checks, employment contracts, proof of accommodation, marriage and birth certificates — the full set of documents required for residence permit and long-term residence applications submitted to OAMP. Same applies to permanent residence and Czech citizenship applications.

Do you handle translations for s.r.o. registration and trade licences?

Yes. We translate founders’ passports, criminal record checks, articles of association and supporting documents for s.r.o. registration in Prague — accepted by Czech notaries and regional courts. We also provide court interpreting at the notarial deed, which is mandatory when founders do not speak Czech.

Do you work with law firms and immigration consultants on framework terms?

Yes. For ongoing cooperation we sign a framework agreement with no minimum volume — all future orders run under agreed terms. Suitable for law firms, immigration consultants, notary offices and corporate HR teams. Invoicing is on standard 14-day terms; NDA is signed on request.

Do you translate documents for buying property or inheritance in Prague?

Yes. We translate passports, marriage and birth certificates, bank statements, contracts and powers of attorney for notarial real estate transactions in Prague, as well as documents for inheritance proceedings handled through a Czech notary. Court interpreting at the deed is available on request.
