Certified, or standard — which do you need?
The price for a standard page (1,800 characters including spaces) for the Ukrainian-English pair is 900 CZK. The difference is whether your document needs the round stamp of a sworn translator — and exactly where it’s heading.
Certified (sworn) translation
- Round stamp of a sworn translator registered with the Czech Ministry of Justice
- Accepted by immigration authorities (USCIS, UK Home Office, IRCC), schools and employers
- Typically: birth/marriage certificates, criminal record extracts, powers of attorney, diplomas
Standard translation
- No sworn certification or stamp
- For businesses, correspondence, internal materials
- Suitable when the document isn't being submitted to any authority
The US, UK and Canada generally accept a translation made in Czechia
Unlike many European countries, which require a translator registered locally, the situation here is favourable. USCIS (USA) doesn't require a translator from any specific country — their own signed statement of accuracy is enough. UK Home Office accepts translations made abroad if the translator is a member of an official body in their own country — and a Czech sworn translator meets exactly that criterion. IRCC (Canada) accepts a translation from an independent translator abroad if a signed accuracy statement is attached, which the sworn translator's stamp and clause effectively already covers. We still recommend confirming requirements with the specific institution before submitting.
Which documents do we translate most often?
For the Ukrainian-English pair, a document is usually either heading abroad (US, UK, Canada) or arriving from abroad — and that’s what determines the type of translation you need.
Education — WES and UK ENIC
WES (World Education Services) evaluates diplomas for the US and Canada and accepts a translation from a qualified translator without requiring sworn certification. UK ENIC (United Kingdom), by contrast, explicitly requires a certified translation — two separate systems.
Diploma and transcript
For evaluation by WES (US/Canada) or UK ENIC (United Kingdom).
School certificate
Usually submitted alongside the diploma for academic recognition.
Clients often mix up WES and UK ENIC, even though they're two completely different systems with different translation requirements. We always confirm exactly where the document is going before advising on the type of translation — it saves a lot of rework.

For immigration applications and confirming a marriage abroad.
Criminal record extract
Criminal record extract
A standard requirement for visa and immigration applications to the US, UK and Canada.
Power of attorney
Power of attorney
For representation in property, inheritance, or business matters abroad.
Clients used to worry that a translation made in Czechia wouldn't be accepted in the US or the UK — unlike Europe, it's actually the opposite here: USCIS, UK Home Office, and even IRCC generally accept our certified translation. It's a pleasant surprise for anyone who's already dealt with other countries' requirements.

Documents heading abroad
For immigration applications, study or work in the US, UK, Canada or another English-speaking country — the most common request.
Incoming documents from abroad
When a relative or partner abroad has sent an English-language document, and you need a Ukrainian translation for personal or business purposes.

What do people ask most about Ukrainian-English translation?
Will English-speaking institutions abroad accept a translation made in Czechia?
Yes, under certain conditions — and this is more the exception than the rule compared to other countries. USCIS (USA) does not require a translator from any specific country — a signed statement of accuracy and competence from the translator is enough. UK Home Office accepts translations made abroad if the translator is a member of an official body in their own country, and a Czech sworn translator (soudní překladatel), appointed by the Czech Ministry of Justice, meets that criterion. IRCC (Canada) also accepts a translation from an independent translator abroad if a signed accuracy statement is attached — which the Czech sworn translator’s stamp and clause effectively already is. We still recommend checking requirements with the specific institution before submitting.
What are WES and UK ENIC, and how do they differ?
WES (World Education Services) evaluates diplomas for the US and Canada and accepts a translation from a qualified translator without requiring sworn certification. UK ENIC (United Kingdom), on the other hand, explicitly requires a certified translation. These are two separate systems with different translation requirements — worth not confusing them.
How much does a certified translation between Ukrainian and English cost?
The standard price for translation between Ukrainian and English is 900 CZK per standard page (1,800 characters including spaces). Express turnaround within 24 hours carries a 50% surcharge on the total price.
How long does a certified translation between Ukrainian and English take?
Standard orders are completed within 2–3 business days. If you need the document sooner, we offer express turnaround within 24 hours for a 50% surcharge on the total price.
Do I need a notarised affidavit for Canada (IRCC)?
IRCC requires a signed accuracy statement from the translator if they are not a member of a Canadian professional body. The Czech sworn translator’s stamp and clause already serves this function, so an additional notarised affidavit usually isn’t needed — but requirements can vary by immigration programme, so we recommend checking in advance.
